About this opportunity
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities and persons within the production hall on the designated shift. Directly reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and working closely with the Site Quality Officer.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Lead and support the shift production team to achieve safety, quality, and production targets.
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor production performance.
- Ensure machines operate safely, efficiently, and within specification.
- Conduct product quality checks and address non-conformances.
- Coordinate maintenance activities and support breakdown resolution.
- Monitor waste, downtime, and operational issues, taking corrective action as required.
- Complete accurate production records and shift handovers.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, Food Safety, Quality, and Business Management System requirements.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Experience leading or coordinating teams in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Must have experience in plastic moulding be it injection, blow or extrusion
- Strong understanding of production processes, equipment operation, and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to monitor quality standards and address non-conformances.
- Working knowledge of WHS, Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities and responding to operational issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Competent computer and reporting skills, with experience maintaining production records.
- Flexibility to manage changing production priorities, rostering, and overtime requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging, plastics, or a similar high-volume production environment.
- A technical or trade qualification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related discipline.
