Job Description

The Truck Driver (MC) is responsible for the safe, efficient and timely collection and delivery of plastic waste feedstock and recycled plastic resin products across Brisbane and surrounding areas. The role ensures transport activities are completed safely, customer service standards are maintained, and all electronic delivery documentation and proof of delivery requirements are accurately completed.

The position plays a critical role in supporting production and customer requirements through reliable transport services while maintaining compliance with all road transport, workplace health and safety, and company standards.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Operate Multi Combination (MC) vehicles safely and professionally in accordance with road transport legislation, company policies and operating procedures.
  • Complete scheduled collections and deliveries across Brisbane and surrounding areas in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
  • Verify load stability and restraint prior to departure, ensuring loads are fit for transport and comply with applicable transport regulations.
  • Complete customer collections and deliveries in accordance with agreed schedules and operational priorities.
  • Communicate delays, disruptions or transport issues promptly to the Production Manager or designated operational contact.
  • Contribute to efficient transport operations through effective route management and adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Represent Astron professionally when interacting with customers, suppliers and other external stakeholders.
  • Accurately complete electronic delivery documentation, manifests and proof of delivery (POD) records.
  • Ensure delivery information is recorded and submitted accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Conduct daily pre-start and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with company requirements.
  • Complete key vehicle safety checks and promptly report defects, maintenance issues or safety concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with licensing requirements, transport legislation and company policies at all times.
  • Comply with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, company policies, procedures and safe work practices.
  • Follow site safety requirements, traffic management plans and operational controls at all customer, supplier and company locations.
  • Report hazards, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years' heavy vehicle driving experience, including HR truck driving experience.
  • Experience in pick-up and delivery operations within manufacturing, logistics, industrial or recycling environments is desirable.
  • Current Multi Combination (MC) Driver Licence.
  • Demonstrated safe driving record.
  • Ability to meet applicable driver medical requirements including drug and alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
  • Forklift License is desirable but not required.
  • Experience within manufacturing, recycling or industrial operations.
