About this opportunity

Circular Plastics Australia is seeking a qualified Electrician to join the maintenance team at our newly built Altona recycling plant. This role is on the night shift, Monday to Friday, 10pm to 6 am with opportunities for overtime on weekends too.

This role is crucial in ensuring the optimal operation of our plant machinery through effective maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. As part of a team covering 24-hour operations, you will play a key role in supporting our production processes and contributing to our commitment to safety and quality.

 

Job Description

Your key responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Maintain electrical controls of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveying and optical sorting systems, and site services including compressors, chillers, and boilers.
  • Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes to support operational goals.
  • Install new electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all equipment complies with Australian Safety Standards and Safety Control Logic.

Your skills and experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Prior experience with the latest technology and automation within a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of PLC logic, SCADA, Siemens Safety control logic, and Australian Safety Standards.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve for emergency maintenance and repair

Your qualifications

  • Relevant trade qualification as an A Class Electrician.
  • Certification in electrical safety and compliance with Australian standards.
  • Additional certifications in PLC programming and SCADA systems are advantageous.
