We have a fantastic opportunity for an Afternoon Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our VIP Steel Avondale branch, a multinational PACT Group PTY subsidiary.

About the Role:

You will work as part of the operational team with a key focus on providing maintenance support to enable effective running of all equipment.

You will ensure all processes and assets have the capability to meet our customers’ requirements in a manner that does not compromise quality or health and safety.

Areas of Accountability:

  • Increase overall plant performance and asset reliability.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Health and Safety in accordance with PACT group policies.
  • Ensure compliance of product quality with both internal / external standards and requirements
  • Provide substitutive leadership and coverage for the Site Maintenance Engineer when necessary.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service in a demanding business environment.
  • Achieving high levels of equipment performance and reliability.
  • Operating in a highly seasonal business and finding ways to maintain the equipment.
  • Responding to breakdowns during afternoon shifts and weekends.
  • Engaging an operations team with high levels of agency staff.
  • Keeping up with technology.
  • Upgrading machines and essential services for maximum reliability and efficiency while maintaining costs within budget.

 

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need the following essential skills & experience:

  • Manufacturing / Production exposure.
  • Trained Hydraulics
  • PLC and electrical fault finding.
  • Trained Pneumatics.
  • Health, Safety, Quality focus.
  • Prior experience in a maintenance / engineering role within and FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Trade Certificate Engineering.
  • Fitter / Turner / Welder.
  • Electrical Skills
