Job Description

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for coordinating with suppliers and customer day-to-day shipments which includes but not limited to, quoting, booking loads in Mercury Gate TMS, creating BOL’s, tracking and resolving issues. 

Qualifications

  • Quoting shipments for client for projects 

  • Creates BOL’s for new shipments and sends to supplier to ship 

  • Tenders loads in Mercury Gate TMS to Carriers 

  • Tracks pick-up, in-transit and delivery of shipments 

  • High level of professionalism when dealing with customer and suppliers 

  • High attention to detail and able to ask appropriate questions to give accurate quotes 

  • Resolves issues with misrouted freight / critical freight 

  • Can escalate to Operations Manager when there are critical issues 

  • Supports will billing discrepancies and updates system as necessary 

  • Other duties as required and assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems 

  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel 

  • Some experience in transportation, LTL preferred

  • High level of professionalism, high attention to detail, task oriented
