Job Description

P&S Transportation is looking for a Transportation Management System (TMS) Administrator to join our team and help us manage and optimize our transportation operations using the McLeod Software TMS. You will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the TMS software and providing training and support to end users. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to: 

 

  • Install, update, and monitor the McLeod Software TMS's performance, a comprehensive logistics platform that helps us plan, execute, and track the movement of goods and materials. 

  • Configure the TMS software to meet our business needs and requirements, such as setting up workflows, order management, invoicing, reporting, and analytics. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or errors related to the TMS software, such as data integrity, connectivity, security, and functionality. 

  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users of the TMS software, such as dispatchers, drivers, customers, and vendors. 

  • Train new and existing users on how to use the TMS software effectively and efficiently, such as creating orders, assigning drivers, tracking shipments, generating invoices, and accessing reports. 

  • Collaborate with other IT staff and McLeod Software representatives to ensure the smooth integration and operation of the TMS software with other systems and applications. 

  • Stay updated on the latest features and enhancements of the McLeod Software TMS and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed. 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. 

  • At least 3 years of experience working with transportation management systems or similar software solutions. 

  • Proficient knowledge of the McLeod Software TMS and its modules, such as LoadMaster®, PowerBroker®, Carrier Mobile®, Driver Mobile®, DocumentPower®, etc. 

  • Strong technical skills in database management, SQL queries, data analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving. 

  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

  • A passion for transportation and logistics.

A Successful TMS Administrator: 

 

Must consistently demonstrate the company’s Mission and Values.  They must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful TMS Administrator must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
