Job Description

The SaaS Administrator is instrumental in managing key SaaS platforms such as Mimecast, Office 365 with Defender, CrowdStrike Endpoint with ITP, and others, with a particular focus on the administration of Office 365 Exchange. This role ensures optimal performance, security, and user experience across these applications, enabling efficient communication, collaboration, and security within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Office 365 Exchange Management: Serve as the primary administrator for Office 365 Exchange, overseeing email configurations, mailbox management, email routing, and data protection policies. Ensure the reliability and efficiency of email communication within the organization.
  • Email Security and Compliance: Utilize Mimecast in conjunction with Exchange Online Protection and Defender for Office 365 to secure email communications against spam, phishing, malware, and other threats. Implement and manage compliance policies, archiving strategies, and data loss prevention (DLP) measures to safeguard sensitive information.
  • User and Access Management: Manage user accounts, mailboxes, distribution groups, and email permissions within Office 365 Exchange, ensuring proper access control and adherence to organizational policies.
  • Hybrid Configuration and Migration: Oversee any hybrid Exchange configurations or migrations from on-premises Exchange to Office 365 Exchange Online, ensuring minimal disruption to users and maintaining data integrity.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support for Office 365 Exchange-related issues, including mailbox recovery, email delivery problems, and performance issues. Use advanced tools and logs for diagnosis and resolution.
  • Integration and Collaboration: Ensure seamless integration of Office 365 Exchange with other Office 365 applications and services, enhancing collaboration tools such as SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Monitoring, Reporting, and Optimization: Monitor the health and performance of Office 365 Exchange, utilizing analytics and reporting tools to identify trends, capacity planning, and optimization opportunities.
  • Policy Development and Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Exchange Online configurations, policies, and procedures. Develop user guides and best practices for email management and security.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in administering Office 365 Exchange Online, including expertise in email security, compliance, and migration strategies.
  • Proficiency in Mimecast and Defender for Office 365 for comprehensive email protection.
  • Familiarity with CrowdStrike Endpoint Protection and ITP for overall organizational security.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex email systems and integrations.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective user support, training, and collaboration with IT teams.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, are highly desirable.

They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful SaaS Administrator must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
