Job Description
We are currently seeking to fill an existing vacancy on our team.
PRT is seeking a Nursery Supervisor. You will have responsibilities in all day-to-day operations associated with bareroot and container seedling production at our Pine Hill location, which grows 60 M seedlings annually. Assisting the Nursery Manager in strategic planning and implementation of seed stratification, field prep, fertilization, soil fumigation, irrigation troubleshooting, and planting container and bareroot seedling crops and cover crops. Once crops are established, you will assist in all cultural activities involved in the production of a quality seedling crop, (i.e. irrigation management, pesticide/fertilizer applications, seedling inventories, and various other specialized cultural activities.).
With the arrival of fall, your focus will turn to finalizing inventories, strong customer communications, managing a contract labor force, seedling harvest, and logistics. Equipment, buildings, and grounds must be always maintained to prevent downtime, unscheduled maintenance, and foster good housekeeping. This position requires very little overnight travel. A few annual meetings will be required.

In addition, Camden hosts an office of the Gee's Bend Ferry which traverses the river just north of the city.
Take a tour at the Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center and learn a few fascinating facts about local art, quilt making, furniture, clothing, and shoe repair. At the end of your day, stop by the Gaines Ridge Dinner Club for irresistible Southern-style surf and turf.

Qualifications
What YOU bring to the table
We're looking for a dedicated leader with a passion for horticulture and sustainable practices:
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in horticulture, agriculture, or forestry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of pine seedling nursery/agricultural operations, equipment, irrigation, soil fertility, and pesticides.
- Strong team leadership and people management experience.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-driven and oriented, with a strong work ethic and dedication to safety and excellence.
