Job Description

Position Summary: 
As a member of the management team, you will be liaising with the field team to ensure the timely planning, coordination, and execution of operations for Bionera. You will also be expected to interact, report, and communicate with our customers and stakeholders.  The ideal candidate will have successfully managed large resource-based projects. Responsibilities will include budget preparation, stakeholder relationships, logistics planning, and field team management. The successful applicant must enjoy traveling, and working away from home, outside, in various weather conditions. We have just completed phase 1 of a three year mine reclamation project in Forestburg, Alberta; this is an exciting time to join our team!
Bionera is in a unique situation to offer this position out of the following locations:
PRT Nursery Locations in Beaverlodge AB, Armstrong BC, or Prince George BC. Options in the Calgary, Red Deer, or Edmonton, AB areas will also be considered. Please specify your area of interest with your application. 
 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
The ideal candidate will have:
o    A bachelor’s degree or diploma in agriculture, horticulture, or forestry, or the equivalent combination of education & experience
o    Five or more years of management in the agriculture, horticulture, crop production, forestry, or tree planting field
o    Proven involvement leading and managing teams, with the ability to work independently
o    Strong planning, organization, and time management skills, with sustained flexibility to adapt to changing situations
o    Experience managing and developing Occupational Health and Safety Programs, Integrated Pest Management, and herbicide application processes
o    Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Outlook
o    Must have a valid driver’s license and a current First Aid Ticket 
o    Candidates with experience operating, maintaining, and repairing farming equipment will be preferred
o    Knowledge or experience with continuous process improvement in a production environment will be seen as an asset
o    Pesticide Applicator Certificate (AB & SK) may be required
