Social Media Intern

  • Intern

Company Description

A 6 to 9-month position offering practical skills, valuable experience and industry knowledge

Is social media content your strong suit? Do you spend your days on Instagram and enjoy creating top-performing content that attracts followers and increases engagement? If so, this role with a global company in a high-tech industry could be perfect for you.

Job Description

Our marketing department is looking for an energetic and creative intern who can help them with a range of marketing initiatives. Someone who is passionate about social media content and all its data and insights. Someone who is eager to learn and has a multicultural awareness.

You’ll be kept busy creating and maintaining social media posting schedules; finding, curating and creating content for our blog and social media platforms; and analyzing the performance of our social media campaigns. Image editing and writing captions are on the job description as well, so extra points if you have reasonably good graphic design skills, especially with Photoshop and/or GIMP.

You’ll also be asked to approach potential customers via LinkedIn and help with the roll out and analytics of our Instagram pages (which is why you need to be active on Instagram). Our company has just launched a new Corporate Identity, so there’s a lot of emphasis on developing the new ‘look and feel’ across the board, including social media.

You should be in the final phase of your master’s or bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communication/PR, Interactive Media, Journalism or something similar. You also need to be a native or near-native English speaker with excellent written and spoken communications skills. Basic video editing skills are a bonus.

However, it’s not just your Instagram skills that we’re interested in. We’re also interested in you as a person. You need to be a self-motivated individual and interested in learning all you can about this field. And you shouldn’t be afraid to teach us a thing or two, either. We like to think we know it all, but we really don’t.

This is a chance to develop both hard and soft skills. In other words, you won’t be spending your days organizing filing cabinets and fetching coffee for our experienced Global Marketing Manager (although she’s known to appreciate the odd slice of apple pie).

You’ll get all the support you need from us, of course. We’re a professional and close-knit company that’s also diverse and loves to have fun. But you need to bring energy and a hands-on mentality.

Qualifications

You’d be great for this position if you:

  • have an affinity with science, news and the media;
  • can take the initiative and have strong organisational skills;
  • pay attention to detail and understand the need to hit deadlines;
  • have a can-do attitude and enjoy working independently;
  • are collaborative and can present confidently your findings to team members.

A commitment to learning and a drive to succeed is much more important to us than your social media experience…

Additional Information

What will you get from us in return for all this awesomeness? A chance to work with cross-functional teams in a truly international setting; a strong learning curve with the opportunity to upskill your talents; and an enthusiastic and forward-thinking CEO (he forced us to put that last bit in). You’ll also get:

  • a full-time internship position for the duration of the contract;
  • a modern office with the latest technology and an informal working environment;
  • a COVID-free workspace in Rotterdam, the most vibrant and multi-cultural city in the Netherlands.

Of course, we’re not all work and no play because that would make us incredibly boring. So, when we’re not creating and marketing our unique and easy-to-use solutions for all kinds of vital industries, you can find us supporting our local pub on Friday nights, putting on summer BBQs, and taking part in the annual Rotterdam Marathon. Participation in extra-curricular activities is always voluntary but enjoying your job (most of the time) is compulsory at Procentec.
