(Jr.) Customer Support Officer

  • Full-time

Company Description

A crucial, front-line role with a global leader in the Industrial Automation market

Would you like to help a successful company keep its customers’ needs at the forefront of every interaction? Do you thrive on one-to-one interactions, solving problems and providing timely and considerate help? If so, this entry-level job could be just what you’re looking for.

Job Description

Let’s be clear. We’re not looking for the perfect candidate (we don’t believe in unicorns, although we’re pretty convinced that UFOs exist). What we need is a Junior Customer Support Officer who is keen to develop personally and professionally. Someone who is approachable, energetic and optimistic. Above all, someone who can engage in difficult conversations with tact and patience.

Sure, it would be nice if you have some relevant experience, especially in customer service. What’s more important to us is that you’re a good listener and possess problem-solving skills. You’ll receive on-the-job training from day one, but you have to bring your creativity and resourcefulness—what we call natural zeal. You also need to be fluent in Dutch and of course in English since we’re an international business.

Most of your time will be spent answering and dealing with (or redirecting) inbound calls, confirming orders and keeping customers up to date with their order status, and researching and responding to customer complaints. You’ll also be responsible for setting up internal and external communication protocols and, arranging meetings with customers and distributors.

Don’t worry. We won’t expect you to have product knowledge from the get-go. Many of our solutions are unique and/or complex. However, we will want you to make every effort to learn the ins and outs of all our products over time, so you can help our customers when they run into problems.

You’ll be part of the Sales team and you’ll work closely with our Marketing, Order management and Operations teams. You’ll get all the support you need from us, of course. We’re a professional and close-knit company that’s also diverse and loves to have fun.

Qualifications

You’d be great for this position if you can:

  • put yourself in a customer’s shoes and represent their needs;
  • communicate complex concepts in easily understood terms;
  • notice trends, pinpoint problems and pay attention to the details;
  • respond to unexpected situations with calm and flexibility;
  • engage with customers and colleagues with patience and respect.

A commitment to learning and a drive to succeed is much more important to us than your experience and qualifications.

Additional Information

What will you get from us in return for all this awesomeness? A chance to work with cross-functional teams in a truly international setting; mentoring and a clear path to progression; and an enthusiastic and forward-thinking CEO (he forced us to put that last bit in). You’ll also get:

  • investment in your ongoing education, including professional certifications;
  • a competitive salary and all the usual secondary benefits, including pension;
  • full-time position;
  • a COVID-free workspace in Rotterdam, the most vibrant and multi-cultural city in the Netherlands.

Of course, we’re not all work and no play because that would make us incredibly boring. So, when we’re not creating and marketing our unique and easy-to-use solutions for all kinds of vital industries, you can find us supporting our local pub on Friday nights, putting on summer BBQs, and taking part in the annual Rotterdam Marathon. Participation in extra-curricular activities is always voluntary but enjoying your job (most of the time) is compulsory at Procentec.
