Company Description

Custom House Global Fund Services has an exciting opportunity for an IT Project Manager to join its IT department based in our Sofia, Bulgaria office to provide effective IT project management of Custom House’s global IT projects with a particular focus on IT infrastructure projects. Custom House will shortly be embarking on a significant infrastructure project that will require the migration of its IT infrastructure away from the existing service provider and the IT Project Manager will be required to ensure that it is successfully delivered. The person will also be managing and coordinating other IT projects as required.

Job Description

The person will have in-depth technical knowledge of complex IT environments (encompassing data, applications and particularly infrastructure) and will be operationally aware of the critical role Information Technology plays in bringing about transformational and significant business and IT change. 

The person will possess strong planning, problem solving, communication and analytical skills and must be able to work in a fast paced and collaborative setting. They must be able to identify, document and manage all project risks and clearly communicate goals and project status to all project stakeholders. The IT Project Manager will be technically adept and able to manage multiple project schedules concurrently. 

The IT Project Manager must be able to successfully build strong stakeholder relationships in a global business environment. The person will demonstrate a history of successful delivery of enterprise solutions and utilisation of best project management practices around planning, scheduling, execution & deployment. Together with this, the IT Project Manager must produce accurate project performance metrics & status reporting as well as ensure effective team collaboration throughout the project lifecycle and have consideration for operational readiness and post deployment support. In-depth working knowledge of project management lifecycle methodologies is a must (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK, or Agile Scrum).
Reports to: Head of IT
Job Purpose: 
• Ensure strategic IT projects are delivered on time, on budget and to quality specifications. Carefully manage project costs and escalate serious project issues to IT management and project sponsors as required.
• Liaise closely with technical IT team members to understand both current technical challenges and delivery priorities together with related strategic business roadmaps to create effective and realisable project plans.
• Collaborate closely with IT team members in a virtual environment to ensure that they understand what is expected of them (e.g. sizing the IT effort, seeking feedback in relation to potential technical blockers to success etc.) and ensure that timelines / deadlines are agreed and attained.
• Have a practical understanding of project value management and benefits realisation e.g. ROI, IRR etc. analysis.
• Manage multiple projects, provide technical leadership and guidance based on industry best practices to the project teams, working with stakeholders and IT vendors, developing and maintaining project plans, workflows, processes, procedures and communication strategies with all stakeholders. 
• Creates weekly, monthly and ad-hoc project status reports and metrics / scorecards; engages with IT subject matter experts within Custom House IT and/or IT partners; proactively predicts and evaluates issues and proposes corrective measures to remediate.
• Act as a lead interface between Custom House Fund Services and vendors to ensure effective coordination and delivery between internal and external teams. 
• Review project performance against plans and schedules. Establish clear performance measures and being able to define a system of collecting, distributing, and acting upon project feedback is essential.
• Ensure transition of delivered IT projects to business as usual (BAU) i.e. ensure that the IT & business support teams are engaged with to transition IT solutions to BAU.
• Engage with IT Service Management processes and activities to ensure that related documents are updated as programmes of work are delivered e.g. Service Catalogue, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions etc.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Systems is a requirement.
• PRINCE2 or PMP certified.
• Agile/Scrum Master certification (PSM, CSM).
• Working knowledge of ITIL v3 Foundation.

Knowledge & Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years demonstrable IT Project Management experience with a particular focus on project managing infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrable experience gained within the Financial Services Industry in managing and delivering complex IT projects.
• Demonstrable track record of successfully creating and managing large budgets and tracking actuals against forecasts.
• In-depth experience of vendor management; on-going / proactive engagement with vendors is critical to ensure that optimal outcomes are achieved.
• Understands the principles behind business and IT requirements, functional designs, data models, technical and application architectures to ensure projects are accurately scoped and scheduled.
• Highly organised, able to work to tight deadlines and be logical and pragmatic when prioritising multiple requirements.
• Skills and familiarity with some or all of the following technologies: Windows Server environments; SAN; WAN; LAN; Virtualisation; Data Centres; .NET applications; Oracle; MS SQL Server; data warehousing and business intelligence tools.
• Must be an excellent communicator and negotiator, an effective problem solver and be well able to motivate technical teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally to a wide range of people at all levels including communicating complex technical issues to non-technical user base. 
• Able to work and manage virtual project teams.
• Experience in leading complex IT projects using Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
• Experience identifying and understanding user issues and managing user expectations.
• High level of computer literacy: MS Project, Excel, Visio, Outlook & PowerPoint etc.
• Strong people skills – team leadership as well as a team player.
• High-level of energy, problem solving with a positive can-do attitude. 
• Ability to work within a fast paced environment, consistently delivering high quality results and achieving objectives on time.
• Awareness of commercial reality and context; while being innovative and forward thinking to bring new ideas to fruition.
