That means we get involved in all sorts of interesting topics including savings and investments for young people, new technology and impact on business, cyber security, social impact and ESG, regulatory change, political and government affairs. PIMFA was created in 2017 as the outcome of a merger between the Association of Professional Financial Advisers (APFA) and the Wealth Management Association (WMA) with a history as a trade association since 1991.

Job Description

  • Report to the Director of Government Relations and Policy.
  • Develop and run PIMFAs monitoring of and intelligence on policy issues relevant to our members.
  • Coordinate policy input into PIMFA communications, including our weekly bulletin.
  • Ensure our forward calendar of events and activities is up to date.
  • Track consultations, government bills and select committee inquiries.
  • Support the wider Government and Policy team.
  • Exemplify PIMFAs core values in fulfilling these job duties. Respect values of PIMFA and be always compliant.

Qualifications

  • This is a new role and you will have the capability and mindset to create something from scratch.
  • Proven experience required, 3+ years, in policy or public affairs with demonstrated integrity on the job.
  • Dynamic with a strong background in policy or public affairs.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work with peers and within a small team, excellent team collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, self-initiating, well-organised and capable of managing multiple projects at a time and delivering on time.
  • Enjoys and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to deliver under pressure. Able to adapt to changing timelines.
  • Motivated, energetic, self-starter.
  • Ability to travel to London as required.
