Job Description

The Project Manager will provide overall project management services to ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with the required stakeholder involvement. This individual must be able to manage multiple medium to large projects simultaneously. Additionally, this individual should be able to provide regular project management guidance to colleagues implementing smaller projects. The incumbent will oversee strategic relationship development and maintenance.  The Project Manager also will be responsible for grant compliance, building the public health portfolio and task assignments.

Responsibilities INCLUDE:

Technical

  • Leads and directs multiple large complex projects or programs.
  • Responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities and enforcing accountability, developing and maintaining a schedule to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Proactively identifies potential project risks and recommends mitigation strategies.
  • Drives to decisions effectively with project team members and business decision makers in a positive, team building manner.
  • Escalates in a timely manner potential project risks to appropriate management, project sponsors, and/or key stakeholders.
  • Advises project team members on Project Management best practices, tips, techniques, and on all aspects of the project management discipline (i.e. project planning, governance, communication, team structure, and risk management).

 

Execution

  • Executes effective project / program management, including but not limited to: project planning, change management and communications planning, managing changes to the project scope, and ensures that the project plan is accurate, updated, and reflective of authorized changes.
  • Develops, tracks and monitors project budget, and keeps appropriate stakeholders informed throughout project lifecycle.
  • Develops and updates all project documentation including, but not limited to project plan, issues log, status reporting.
  • Provides agreed upon post implementation support and appropriately transitions from in-flight project to steady state.
  • Develops and maintains effective client management, including but not limited to: seeking opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships; managing day-to-day client interaction; setting and managing client expectations; ensuring clients achieve an understanding of deliverables, dependencies, risks, and progress.
  • Measures customer satisfaction at end of project by analyzing customer feedback and incorporating this into subsequent projects to continually improve project management process.
  • For projects with a technical component, acts as liaison between HR and IT to ensure appropriate due diligence is followed and appropriate stakeholders are consulted/involved.
  • Manages all relevant day to day vendor relationships aligned with projects

Qualifications

4-5 Year/Bachelor's Degree (i.e. Business Management, Project Management, equivalent)

5-7+ years of project / program management leadership and/or project supervision experience in a moderately complex organization.

Experience with Microsoft SharePoint preferred

PMP preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
