PETA Asia is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals. We operate under the simple principle that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in factory farms, laboratories, the clothing trade, and the entertainment industry.

PETA Asia works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns.

Job Description

  • Help develop regional and country country-specific marketing and media plans to reach audiences according tofor various celebrity campaigns, video launches, investigations, or otherand news releases 
  • Create videos from concept to completion to share via the organization’'s social media (Facebook and Instagram) channels in Arabic
  • Produce print graphics and advertisements to use in the organization’'s online work
  • Create compelling content—both words and imagery—for PETA''s various social- media sites
  • Stay current on social media trends and how to take advantage of them
  • Respond to comments on social media
  • Prepare, translate, and manage news releases for celebrity ads and videos, investigations, and other campaigns 
  • Develop media target lists for issue and campaign coverage 
  • Help coordinate media efforts at the launch of celebrity campaigns or news conferences 
  • Maintain and update a media database
  • Recruit and train activists across the region
  • Meet with officials, as needed
  • Inspect facilities, as needed
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with video editing software, including but not limited to Adobe Premiere Pro, EDIUS Pro, and Final Cut Pro
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong working knowledge of all stages of video editing, including assembling recorded raw footage into a finished product
  • Strong creative and digital technology skills
  • Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues in The the Middle East
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral skills in both English and Arabic
  • S, some knowledge of media outlets and how to effectively reach them preferred 
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines 
  • Self-motivation and the proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people 
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed 
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle 
  • Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA’'s philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA’'s positions on issues in a professional manner

Additional Information

Position Objective: 

To coordinate PETA Asia's online, media, and on-the-ground campaigns in Arabic-speaking regions.
