About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Conversational AI Engineer (Chatbot Developer) to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This role is ideal for a hands-on technologist who thrives at the intersection of data science, automation, and conversational AI. You will design, build, and implement enterprise-scale virtual assistant solutions that integrate seamlessly with business process networks, delivering exceptional user experiences for internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop AI-powered conversational experiences (chatbots/virtual assistants) to solve employee queries
Build and maintain a script library for reusable conversational flows across multiple domains
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate feasibility, gather requirements, and optimize processes
Implement automated conversational processes into the Virtual Assistant platform
Perform unit testing, ensuring robust error handling and timely bug resolution
Convert conversational flow diagrams into production-ready code
Integrate APIs, database queries, and automation workflows into chatbot experiences
Ensure scalability, documentation, and adherence to best coding practices
Apply DevOps and Agile methodologies throughout the development lifecycle

Required Skills & Experience
Hands-on expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-scale chatbots or virtual assistants
Strong scripting skills in Groovy (preferred) or JavaScript
Proficiency with Python and API testing tools such as Postman or Insomnia
Solid understanding of REST and SOAP web services and integration patterns
Knowledge of NLP concepts including intent recognition, entity extraction, and regex
Experience with automation workflows and process optimization
Strong grasp of OOP concepts and scalable coding practices
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial services or enterprise-scale environments
Background in AI model development and prompt flow orchestration
Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and Agile project delivery
