As a QA Automation Engineer,

  • You will be working as part of agile teams who are responsible for delivering functioning solutions to our clients. With the support of experienced professionals within the team you'll have responsibility for owning and delivering on specific tasks, and you'll be trusted and empowered to move things forward under your own steam.
  • You'll gain exposure to the full stack, using continuous delivery processes and a broad range of technologies to deliver high- quality, maintainable and customer focused experiences across a range of devices.
  • Your testing expertise will be critical to identify innovative ways of testing the products’ design and architecture and report these back to the client
  • You will be part of projects where you will get to work with a robust technical automation framework using for example Cypress, Selenium or equivalent
  • Actively contributing to the QA Community of Practice such as sharing your knowledge, skills, and new developments in QA
  • Assist the team with writing specifications and acceptance criteria, estimating stories, sprint planning and documentation.
  • You may also be expected to coach more junior engineers in the team, working with them to build their expertise.
  • You will be a valued member of the team - you will be embedded into sprint teams, work closely with developers and we expect you to take responsibility for the quality of the sprints delivered.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Implementing and using automation frameworks and approaches like Selenium, TestNG, Visual Studio CodedUI, BDD tools such as Cucumber, or SpecFlow, Integration between testing framework and CI/CD tools
  • Experience in writing tests supported by at least one modern Object Oriented development language (e.g. Java/Kotlin, C#, JS, Python)
  • Experience building automated UI and/or API tests using an industry standard toolset
  • Some experience of using CI/CD practices such as automated UI/regression testing (Jenkins, Team City, Azure DevOps etc.) Experience of working with test management and defect tracking tools
  • Working against a branching strategy e.g. git, svn or cvs
  • Experience working in an Agile team using Scrum or Kanban processes.

In addition to the above, we would be thrilled if you also had:

  • Experience in non-functional testing disciplines (e.g. security, performance, load)
  • A demonstrable eye for good user interface design, user experience and accessibility
  • Experience testing across devices/platforms, including desktop and mobile

Personal qualities

  • You can clearly communicate with both clients and peers, describing technical issues and solutions in both written and meeting/workshop contexts.
  • You are a confident problem solver and troubleshooter with an eye for detail
  • You are aware of trends in quality assurance and testing and can share insights with the team
