Job Description

The role of the EHS Coordinator is to deliver a first class service to the business, maintaining and improving EHS performance and compliance. The role will include pro-active and re-active support for projects and incidents throughout PA and support for our Real Estate function in particular.  This role will help PA maintain and re-accredit environment, health and safety certifications whilst promoting best practice across the business.

Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Project Management

  • Working with external suppliers to support legislative and regulatory projects including external accreditation within Health and Safety (H&S) and Energy & Environment (E&E)
  • Project justification and cost management
  • Manage procurement of EHS services
  • Performance management of EHS service providers
  • Manage and implement the EHS management systems
  • Collaborate with the business to maintain and improve EHS performance
  • Write, develop and update EHS documents and procedures in line with legal and company requirements
  • Mobilise & ensure implementation of EHS management system at new PA offices
  • Achieve & maintain EHS ISO accreditations at PA sites where required
  • Communicate EHS messages across the business as required
  • Respond to EHS queries from the business
  • Own the EHS company intranet pages
  • Manage EHS computer systems
  • Contribute to reports to senior management on EHS activities
  • Act as first point of contact for EHS queries on corporate RFIs
  • Maintain and support the UK EHS training schedule according to legislative requirements.
  • Maintain and support the UK EHS auditing schedule to meet regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Assist in external audit and inspection processes as required
  • Schedule and contribute to internal audit processes to maintain compliance
  • Assist in developing and monitoring EHS targets, objectives and performance measures

Health and Safety

  • Act as central coordinator for remote offices for H&S
  • Act as first point of contact for RFI’s in association with H&S pre-qualification questionnaires
  • Coordinate H&S committee meetings at UK sites, ensuring records are maintained, the meetings documented, and the actions allocated as agreed
  • Investigate and report on accidents as required and manage the accident reporting system.
  • Develop and sign off risk assessments as required

Energy and Environment

  • Document and manage PA’s environmental aspects and impacts register
  • Collect data from the Facilities Management teams to support E&E certifications

Qualifications

  • Degree calibre, or appropriate equivalent professional qualification
  • Ideally, a minimum of three years working in an international professional services environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Formal health and safety training such as NEBOSH National General Certificate preferred
  • Some experience of small project management including office moves and fit-out preferred
  • Some experience of Energy and Environment preferred
