Job Description

Your day-to-day

We are looking for a true innovator to help drive forward our Data Science practice, leading Data Science & AI engagements and mentoring to grow the overall skillset and capability of the US team. You will have a breadth of experience in the field and bring an expertise and proven history of delivery in multiple sectors to be applied cross-industry with our clients. Our main focus is in Energy & Utilities, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Consumer & Manufacturing and Financial Services. You should have experience consulting in at least one of these industries.

Recent engagements include:

  • Using Natural Language Processing for optimization of a Gas Utility’s contact centers
  • Processing acoustic data from utility companies to predict the size and severity of water leaks
  • Using Predictive Analytics for advanced Wildfire Mitigation on the West Coast
  • Support automation of diaper production by using manufacturing data to predict the production of defective products and reduce operator monitoring times.
  • Integrating Open Source and Spatial data for prioritization of multi-year infrastructure programs
  • Strategizing and building a one-of-a-kind data platform for a consortium of Healthcare clients

Qualifications

You will have a range of experience, which include a number of the following: 

  • 4-10 years' professional experience as a data scientist, software engineer or statistical modeler.
  • 3-4 years operating in a consulting capacity
  • Master's degree, PhD (?) or relevant training from top tier university/residential course in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or similar field 
  • Experience of leading teams and developing people’s skills and capabilities
  • Experience of leading and delivering solutions that involved any of the following specialisms: advanced analytics and data science, big data, cloud-based business intelligence and data visualization.
  • Experience of leading and delivering complex business intelligence and analytical projects in consulting or industry.
  • Expertise in Machine Learning algorithms and methods 
  • Experience building and deploying models using: Python, R
  • Experience with database systems preferred including strong SQL experience
  • Experience building scalable data pipelines with data/feature engineering 
  • Experience with cloud technologies preferred: AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience with front end (UI), HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, R Shiny, Tableau preferred 
  • A genuine affinity for problem solving - an inquisitive mind who wants to solve the trickiest challenges whilst working with incredible colleagues 
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, picking up new skills and domain expertise in unfamiliar surroundings
  • Experience of conducting analysis for evidence-based decision making, developing models and decision support tools or building business cases for investment decisions
