Job Description

The M&A Integration Lead is responsible for the leadership, execution and delivery of the integration of future acquisitions by PA Consulting globally. The role will lead and manage integration projects.  Working closely with key function heads, the M&A Integration Lead will develop an overarching integration plan with key milestones to support the integration goals of the firm.  Through close collaboration with the core cross-functional integration team and the acquired entity, the role will ensure the integration vision is achieved.

The M&A integration lead plays an essential role in the integration of acquired entities, and is the key liaison between Corporate Development, Executive Leadership, the acquired business and operational stakeholders. The role covers both enabling commercial integration and systems and process adoption.

Qualifications

Your day to day responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Head of Corporate Development during the due diligence phase so that integration related matters are considered prior to acquisition
  • Work closely with the Business Sponsor during the due diligence phase to draft “Key Guiding Principles of Integration”
  • During the due diligence phase, develop a relationship with the key contacts at the target entity and ensure integration expectations, consistent with guiding principles, are discussed and communicated prior to close
  • Lead all elements of communication related to the future operating model with the target entity during the pre-integration phase
  • Lead cross functional teams to plan and deliver the overall integration strategy
  • Collaborate with various subject matter experts to develop detailed project plans and prioritize integration tasks to achieve project goals
  • Take responsibility for effective communication within the project team and with joint management team
  • Provide regular updates regarding the status and progress of the integration to Senior Leadership with appropriate reporting tools
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and escalation for integration activities between all parties (PA and target), ensuring succinct communication, unified efforts, and clarity around objectives
  • Manage internal stakeholders to achieve business synergies, by overseeing the project plan and ensuring efforts align with timeline and budget
  • Be responsible for the timely identification of project risks and the development and implementation of the mitigations for these risks
  • Collaborate closely with the Commercial Integration Lead during all phases of the acquisition and integration process to support realization of business goals
  • Work closely with learning and development leads to create a bespoke joining process which is sympathetic to the target entity
  • Provide governance and oversight including:
    • Assessing and monitoring resource needs for each integration
    • Monitoring and reporting progress against milestones
    • Facilitate timely resolution of escalated issues, risks, and decisions
  • Ongoing development and refinement of the M&A integration process reflecting the business model and scale of the acquired entities showing awareness and adoption of best industry practice and bringing objectivity to the processes already in place, to continue to improve the overall integration experience
  • Contribute to various Corporate Development strategy and growth initiatives 

Experience + Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 3-8 years of experience executing successful integrations required, preferably in the professional services industry
  • Strong understanding of mergers & acquisitions, including the different phases of activity from identification to integration
  • Must be a strong relationship builder, outgoing, and able to effectively liaise with a broad range of stakeholders, externally and internally
  • Strong ability to use experience and analysis to gain support and influence others
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and peer management skills
  • Self-starter and highly motivated; must have intellectual curiosity, desire to learn, and passion for delivering industry best practice
  • Ability to travel, predominantly in North America, with some overseas travel as required

Additional Information

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 - $140,000 + bonus + benefits.  Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
