Company Description

About us

We believe in the power of ingenuity to build a positive human future in a technology-driven world.

As strategies, technologies and innovation collide, we create opportunity from complexity.

Our diverse teams of experts combine innovative thinking and breakthrough use of technologies to progress further, faster. Our clients adapt and transform, and together we achieve enduring results.

An innovation and transformation consultancy, we are 3,300 specialists in consumer and manufacturing, defence and security, energy and utilities, financial services, government and public services, health and life sciences, and transport. Our people are strategists, innovators, designers, consultants, digital experts, scientists, engineers and technologists. We operate globally from offices across the UK, US, Netherlands and Nordics.

Our hybrid way of working is designed to help you plan your work and your life. We want decisions about ‘where to work’ to be governed by ‘the work we need to do’ – whether that’s at client sites, offices/labs/studios, or remotely from home.

We have five principles which will help us balance both creating a high-performance culture that delivers for our clients and the firm, and being understanding and inclusive to individuals, and the teams in which we all work. Our principles are: we put your safety first; we trust PA people; we respect difference; we are responsive to clients and we are responsive to individuals and teams.

PA. Bringing Ingenuity to Life.

Job Description

We’re seeking an expert in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and analysis to underpin the thought leadership produced by our new research team.

You will be tackling “wicked” problems facing leaders and organizations that span across industries and countries in areas ranging from the empowered consumer and the future of work to the climate and sustainability. To do this, you will have an insatiable curiosity for what is possible and a desire to collaborate and harness the power of ingenuity to address these global problems.

You’ll be highly adept at developing and deepening hypotheses and designing questionnaires and surveys for qualitative and quantitative field research to test them. You’ll also have strong critical thinking and analytical skills to synthesize and articulate insights from interviews and raw data tables.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the strongest stories emerge from the research and support their publication in various formats, ranging from formal reports and blog posts to videos, audio, and infographics. As needed, you’ll explore different angles depending on business requirements, e.g. geographic and sector cuts.

Reporting to our Global Head of Research, you’ll be a key contact point for colleagues across our organization, collaborating closely with the consulting team to provide guidance and expertise.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone able to translate big picture briefs into structured research, ideally with at least five years of experience in this area. You’ll be working closely with our expanding research team, as well as with external survey providers.

You’ll need to have a strong appreciation of business trends, able to work with and interrogate data sets to extract the most powerful story. You can distill complex ideas into simple frameworks that enable pragmatic action steps.

You love structuring and telling a compelling, memorable story, ideally both verbally and in writing.

You’ll be capable of identifying the most interesting cuts of data and research, presenting that story to business leaders.

You have commercial experience that enables you to focus on solving pressing business problems, supporting the creation of research-based repeatable advisory products, such as maturity assessments or capability gap analysis tools.

You thrive with collaboration and in a matrixed team structure as part of a networked, global organization. You seek out feedback from your colleagues and from the market to improve and adapt, are adept at juggling multiple projects at any one time, and have a willingness to apply yourself to a wide spectrum of subject matters that span across industry sectors, functional areas, and technologies.
