The Software and Controls Capability at PA is a highly technical team of developers, architects and engineers assisting PA’s client base with innovation and product development across a wide variety of industry sectors.  Sitting at the border of hardware and software the team uses their enviable track record of success to help clients to overcome technical hurdles and bring products to market faster through their own strength of experience in combination with PA’s other product development capabilities.  Based at our technology centre in Melbourn, the 30+ strong team boasts specialists across technology stacks and industry sectors and we are looking to augment this through the hiring of a Managing Consultant with a strong background in automation.

The role of Managing Consultant (MC):

Within PA the MC role represents a top tier appointment in the organisation, with MC’s typically serving as our business development, thought and team leaders.  With one foot in the operation, one foot in the strategic and a head of business and proposition development, this role is highly varied and calls for someone who is autonomous and a self-starter.

The ideal candidate will have:

Sectors such as FMCG, Food and Packaging typically require high levels of automation in the production processes.  We are looking for candidates who have an understanding of this space, and have experience developing software solutions in conjunction with engineers to meet the often complex and bespoke needs of these industries.

You should be able to demonstrate:

• A broad understanding of software and it’s application to automation control
• A flair for client management and business development
• Strong project management skills with a track record of successful product development and deployment
• Cross discipline understanding; you should be able to work across hardware, software, data analysis and be comfortable working with stakeholders in these disciplines

This is a senior opportunity which would suit a candidate that is looking for role that will allow them to build something by leveraging PA’s enviable technical capability into the automation/production space.
