Job Description

Job Title: AI Script Writing Intern

Report to: Information Technology (IT) Team Lead

Job Description:

  • Persona Development: Define and document the backstory, personality, communication style, rhetorical tendencies, and ideological nuances for various political personas (Progressive, Liberal, Conservative, etc). These profiles will serve as the foundation for AI behavior, visual identity, and overall product storytelling.
  • Tone and Voice Guidelines: Establish a distinct voice for each profile, including vocabulary, argumentation style, and rhetorical patterns, so that each feels like a real, relatable character rather than a generic political label.
  • Prompt Refinement: Collaborate to translate persona profiles into effective system prompts. Test persona responses against real political scenarios and iterate based on quality, accuracy, and authenticity.
  • Script and Dialogue Development: Create conversational scripts and example dialogues that reflect each persona's worldview across a range of political topics. Ensure dialogue flows naturally and feels engaging rather than like a lecture.
  • Research and Analysis: Research real-world or historical American political figures, movements, and communication styles that inform each persona. Stay current on how different political groups articulate their positions.
  • User Experience Collaboration: Work with developers and designers to ensure the personas feel cohesive across the full product experience, from chat interactions to visual representation.
  • Continuous Refinement: Iterate on persona content based on user engagement data, feedback, and ongoing AI performance.
  • Optional: Basic Python and GitHub knowledge. This knowledge is a plus, but it is not required at all. What matters most is political knowledge and creative thinking.

Compensation: This is not a paid position.

Benefits: Flexible schedule, college credit, professional networking, and resume-building experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Completing deliverables assigned by a Team Lead
  • Understanding key audiences and developing targeting strategies to drive engagement in regard to ONC’s media content
