Othera's lending platform has many tech challenges in analyzing loan-level data and predictors. You will use state-of-the-art data transformation (a.o., Apache Spark, Python, R) and machine learning services in the Azure cloud using industry data and data from our lending platform. We have student assignments on a range of topics and can always cater to your specific expertise. For example:

• Predicting mortgage cash flows and probabilities based on historical data using AI and data modeling.
• Setting up data analytics and creating data structuring transformations to analyze loan-level provenance data with industry-standard business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
• Automatically removing personal identifying information from loan data and documents using innovations in data classification engines.

Start dates can be any time now or in the future. Given the innovations we are pushing to the market, we always have assignments we can tune on the fly.

The Techie Stuff

• You have solid programming experience in (preferably) Python, Scala, or R, writing algorithms and models.
• Experience with machine learning and data modeling is a clear prerequisite.
• Given the fintech domain, relevant experience in the financial industry, esp. trading bonds, is a big plus.

The Social Stuff

• You don’t need us to micromanage; you can find your own path through the complex jungle of tech stacks and alternatives.
• Of course we do provide you with a coach and sparring partner, as well as the usual agile way of working.
• Our language is English, no need to speak Dutch.
• Ideally, this is a graduation project as bachelor or master in Computer Science or equivalent. But if you really know your data science, whatever the education and are interested in an internship, give us a call.

We are seeking candidates with a valid European (or Turkey) work permit for this role. Candidates outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland/Turkey will be automatically rejected.
