Job Description
We are seeking a Data Analytics Engineer with a strong background in cybersecurity standards, container security, and large-scale data analysis. This role is less about traditional development and more about extracting insights from massive amounts of cybersecurity data—helping teams understand what’s happening across containerized environments and what it means for security and compliance.
If you're passionate about data-driven security insights, working with cloud-native technologies, and making sense of massive datasets in container security, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze large-scale security data related to containerized environments, uncovering trends and risks.
- Develop and maintain automated data pipelines in Python and Go to process security logs, vulnerability data, and compliance metrics.
- Integrate and analyze cybersecurity standards like SBOMs, VEX, and compliance frameworks to provide actionable insights.
- Build visualizations and dashboards to present findings in an intuitive, decision-making format for engineers, security teams, and leadership.
- Monitor and assess container security tools (e.g., Twistlock, Aqua Security, Trivy) to enhance threat detection and compliance tracking.
- Work with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures to understand container deployment models and security implications.
- Automate security reporting for compliance frameworks such as DoD cybersecurity standards (STIGs, FIPS, FedRAMP).
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams and DevSecOps engineers to ensure best practices in containerized workloads.
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills:
- DOD Secret clearance eligibility required.
- Experience with cybersecurity data standards (SBOMs, VEX, deps.dev, or similar).
- Proficiency in Python and Go for automation, data processing, and tool integration.
- Strong experience with data visualization tools (Grafana, Kibana, Tableau, or similar) for container security and compliance metrics.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes security and containerized workload analysis.
- Experience with container security tools (Twistlock, Aqua, Trivy, or others).
- 5+ years of Linux systems administration with experience in security configurations.
- Strong ability to extract insights from large-scale security data to drive proactive security improvements.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience working with AWS security services (Athena, GuardDuty, Security Hub, or similar).
- Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks (Apache Kafka, Spark, or Flink) for large-scale security analysis.
- Knowledge of SIEM platforms and security event correlation.
- Hands-on experience automating compliance workflows for vulnerability tracking and reporting.
- Understanding of federal compliance frameworks beyond DoD (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST 800-53).
