Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director of People Operations, the People Operations Lead will oversee all of the day-to-day operations of the employee lifecycle, from ‘stranger’ to ‘separation’. Alongside the entire People Operations team, this person will work to foster an inclusive, inspiring, psychologically safe environment where team members are empowered to do their best work and grow both personally and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee lifecycle operations with a focus on employee experience and data integrity

  • Identify and drive process improvement efforts, leveraging HR systems to automate and eliminate manual work where possible

  • Oversee our pre-employment and onboarding program (orientation, system entry, paperwork validation, background check administration), be the primary point of contact for our new hires, and provide insight into process optimization

  • Act as the first point of contact for all in-office inquiries or needs, including scheduling building maintenance, maintaining in-office supplies, and helping team members with daily administrative requests; we have an active in-office culture, so you must be able to work from our Flatiron office in NYC at least 3 days/week

  • Serve as administrator for various employee experience and engagement initiatives, assisting with event planning, aggregating employee experience data, etc.

  • Manage daily administrative People Operations tasks: assisting team members with inquiries, completing compliance documentation, employment verifications, assisting with benefits administration, and escalating when necessary

  • Assist with recruitment efforts including sourcing, scheduling interviews, and assisting hiring teams where necessary

  • Other project-based work as assigned

Qualifications

About you:

  • You’re an experienced People Operations Generalist, having spent 3+ years supporting internal teams’ day-to-day People operations, with a strong background in onboarding, HRIS, payroll, equity, benefits, recruiting, and HR administration.

  • You have experience with office administration and vendor management, and you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty - literally! We all take turns cleaning up around the office.

  • You’re comfortable navigating high-volume coordination with data integrity and attention to detail.

  • You love the creative challenge of maintaining strong culture and engagement in the context of remote work.

  • You build relationships and foster trust quickly and easily, and team members are comfortable coming to you with a variety of questions, concerns, and suggestions.

  • You’re an incredibly thoughtful and empathetic written/verbal communicator who can comfortably interface with folks at all levels of the organization.

  • You operate with immense discretion and care when faced with complex employee matters.

  • You are passionate about supporting and organizing employee engagement and DE&I efforts, thinking creatively and strategically to make a notable impact.

  • You are able to prioritize autonomously, and you’re eager to ask for help when you need it.

Additional Information

This role must be based locally in NYC, and will be required to be present in the office at least 3 days/week, as we have an active in-office culture.
