Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be involved in the entire software development process to ensure the product quality. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining test plans for existing and newly implemented features.You will work closely with the Product and Engineering Teams. This position will be reporting to the Director of Quality.

What you'll do

  • Develop testing activities that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, etc.
  • Perform root cause analysis on issues as they come up
  • Perform tophatting to ensure product quality before it gets deployed to production
  • Participate in product functional reviews, test specifications and documentation review
  • Provide suggestions to improve test automation and manual testing processes
  • Be the voice of quality in a highly collaborative, agile development environment
  • Take a proactive approach to addressing application testing process flaws and prevent inefficiency before it happens
  • Help build a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and constant improvement

Qualifications

  • 5+ years hands on experience in the design, implementation and maintenance of software testing solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent College diploma
  • Proficient with git and git workflows
  • Extensive experience in software development and testing
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of testing practices in an Agile environment
  • Proficiency in developing JavaScript testing scripts using Postman
  • Experience with web services technology such as REST, JSON or Thrift
  • Extensive experience with testing complex systems and integrations
  • Extensive experience using tools such as Jenkisns, CodePipeline and BuildKite
  • Familiarity with React, Ruby on Rails, AWS, or similar technologies
  • Able to keep a cool head under pressure when an urgent problem arises and help bring problems into perspective for others
