Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for implementing new features, refactoring key parts of the codebase, and improving the overall design of the platform. You will work closely with the rest of the product & engineering team to make the platform more useful for customers.

What you'll do

  • Propose architectural and code design changes 
  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code
  • Take a proactive approach to addressing tech debt and prevent inefficiency before it happens
  • Perform root cause analysis on issues as they come up
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and distribute knowledge
  • Refactor high tech-debt areas of the system
  • Help build a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and constant improvement

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing full stack web applications in a production environment
  • Computer science knowledge with an understanding of OOP design principles
  • Familiarity with formal code smells and refactoring techniques
  • Familiarity with React, Ruby on Rails, AWS, or similar technologies/languages
  • Can identify critical business issues to prioritize from multiple stakeholders
  • Able to keep a cool head under pressure when an urgent problem arises and help bring problems into perspective for others
