Overview:
 
The cLAB Manager is responsible for architecting, building and maintaining the hybrid lab environment for use by Optiv technical staff and Optiv clients. The cLAB is Optiv’s platform to support technology exploration, self-lead training, POCs and deployment scenarios. The lab consists of several on-premise VMWare clusters with VPN extensions into AWS and Azure. It has over 400 average monthly users. The cLAB Manager and supporting staff manage all aspects of the lab environment including physical and virtual asset management, demo equipment management, user support, documentation, licensing and budgeting. 
 
Responsibilities:

• Architecting a hybrid-cloud platform to provide lab as a service
• Implementing and maintaining the hardware and software components of the lab 
• Managing junior lab engineers  
• Develop new capabilities 
• Deploy new functionality to improve user experience 
• Provide presales support for scoping sales opportunities involving use of the lab
• Maintain annual support contracts/renewals of lab equipment
• Monitor and report on lab usage 
• Manage the lab budget / monitor and report on lab expenses 
• Maintain demo pool inventory and licensing
• Inform senior management of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results
• Create and maintain documentation including, but not be limited to:
  • Current capabilities
  • Administrative processes and procedures
  • How to guides
  • Frequently Ask Questions

• BS/BA or equivalent and applicable work experience
• 5+ years of data center infrastructure deployment and management
• 5+ years of experience with: VMWare, AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, firewalls, VPNs and routing
• Previous experience with Quali CloudShell and/or other infrastructure automation and orchestration platforms
• Previous experience with cyber security tools: IPS, DLP, SIEM, application security, etc.
• Proven track record of managing technical personnel
• Has the ability to gain cooperation of others through leadership, mentoring, management and interpersonal skills
• Ability to listen and communicate effectively with vendors, prospects, clients, account managers, and management
• Strong presentation, written, and oral communication skills
• Highly motivated self-starter that does not require day-to-day management
• Ability to travel as needed (20%)

Desirable Qualifications:

• CISSP or other professional certifications
• Existing or prior certification on leading technologies
• History of awards/recognition for exceptional technical ability and value add
