Job Description

Assist in development and management of a robust client security program assessment responsible for security operations--vulnerability assessment, threat assessment, countermeasures, malware analysis, operations and maintenance, security awareness training, threat emulation, and intelligence for client organizations.

  • Coordinate people and process with technique while continually working towards customer desired outcomes.
  • Track, measure and report resource allocation to contribute to effective resource management
  • Perform quality assurance for finish intelligence reporting and escalations to clients
  • Perform quality assurance on overall functions to ensure client satisfaction
  • Actively engage both technical and high-level stakeholders
  • Look for opportunities for Optiv MSS service additions in client environments to increase visibility and ultimately our value proposition
  • Ensure effective resolution of escalated and high-security incidents
  • Maintain state on current cyber threat actor techniques, tactics, and procedures
  • Maintain a current understanding of the threat landscape for industry against customers’ organization
  • Manage and take part in the development of orchestration and automation logic to enable proactive mitigation of vulnerabilities and interdiction of threats
  • Establish and maintain analytic repeatable processes and assist in continuous improvement of those processes
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations to partners across the managed security services practice
  • Participate in security due diligence of new systems, vendors, and partners
  • Participate in client service calls to assist in successful client outcomes
  • Complete all other projects/tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education and Experience
• Minimum of 6+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and certifications plus direct work experience in cyber security operations
• Background in security analysis – ability to communicate strategic outcomes to non-technical senior leaders
• Develop and report enterprise-level metrics for security program progress
• Understand, demonstrate, and educate stakeholders on the real-world impact of threats and vulnerability exploitation in a given environment
• Manage multiple customer requests, assessments, and meet customer expectations within established service levels
• Willingness to accept direction, support leadership vision, and to serve as a point of contact directly supporting vulnerability assessments, system owners, and executives
• Possess strong technical understanding of cyber threat actor techniques, tactics, and procedures
• Minimum 2 years of experience with multiple best of breed security tools
• Understanding of networking principles (OSI Model, routing, TCP/IP)
• Understanding of best practices in common security technologies, SIEMs, firewalls, IDS/IPS and endpoint AV
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a rapid paced, customer facing 24/7 production environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to share on-call responsibilities, work non-standard hours, and travel when required
• Experience working with cross-business and cross-functional teams in a geographically distributed environment
