Job Description
Job Function Summary
Millennium currently deploys a combination of vendor products and internally developed systems. Millennium is building a regulatory platform to help fulfill various regulatory mandates, one inflight project being MiFID II out of Europe. We are looking to hire a Database Consultant to join the Corporate Systems development team in New York to work on the implementation of our MiFID II platform.
Principal Responsibilities
· Gather and process raw data at scale (including writing scripts, calling APIs, write SQL queries, etc.).
· Build solutions to process unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis and ingest into the big data platform, firm and vendor systems.
· Support business decisions with ad hoc analysis as needed.

Qualifications
· 5+ years of Relational Database development experience with strong knowledge writing complexSQL and Stored Procedures
· Shell Scripting (ksh or bsh)
· Perl programming (pattern matching, database access)
· Experience modeling data in both normalized for transaction processing and denormalized for reporting
· ETL, custom or commercial tools like NiFi or Informatica
· Development experience in a unix/linux environment
· Highly analytical with good problem solving skills and creativity; able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
· Positive individual with strong communication skills; able to interface well with users and other development teams
· Self-driven individual with an ability to work under pressure
Skills Desired
· Experience with Compliance or related applications helpful
· Broad understanding of financial services instruments helpful
Qualifications
More full-stack (C#, .NET etc…) individuals. Someone that can do app/dev work but has strong SQL skills and can do the database work needed for this role. That type of person would have a longer potential trajectory here as opposed to a straight database consultant.
