We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager manager for our Front End Infrastructure/ team to help shape and drive our User Interface technology and architectural direction. Your team owns the foundation for Front End development across all of Optimizely’s product suites.

You will have broad influence and impact on shaping the future direction of our Front End Architecture including partnering with our teams building services to pave the way for our next evolution of our application. You will have an integral role in working with our Design and Product Management teams to establish a User Experience first culture that successfully enables A/B Experimentation and Feature Management to some of the world’s largest enterprises.
What you’ll do:
You will grow and lead our engineering team and help the members of your team grow both technically and professionally
Lead, inspire, and influence to make sure your team does the right things
Work with the recruiting team to attract and retain high quality and diverse talent
Help shape and drive our overall product architecture from a front end perspective in collaboration with other parts of our technology stack
Drive the team to deliver high quality, enterprise class applications consistently
Nurture Optimizely’s Engineering Identity through recruiting and external engagement with the larger front end technology community (meetups, conferences, open source, etc)
Have a strong leadership presence resulting in the ability to forge cross-functional partnerships and drive strong organization results
Drive our move from a monolith architecture to an API first, services based architecture from the perspective of our Front End teams.
Partner with our Design and Product teams to help forge a strong design and user experience driven culture
Establish great rapport with other development teams, Product Managers, Sales and Success to maintain high levels of visibility, efficiency, and collaboration
Have visibility, influence and impact across all of Optimizely’s engineering teams and product areas
You will be successful in this role if:
You have managed a team of 6+ engineers
You have experience hiring and managing more senior engineers and/or first line managers
Recent relevant development experience including familiarity with latest Front End Technologies such as React and various instrumentation tools that help measure and improve front end performance
You are able to articulate and communicate a vision, strategy or direction
You are naturally inclined to take initiative and help make an impact on the larger organization
You don’t just see challenges, you see an opportunity to own and drive a solution
You have solid organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule
You have a strong technical background that allows you to advocate for and support your engineers
