Job Description

Optimizely is the industry leader in web and mobile optimization and experimentation platform. Optimizely is looking for mid to senior level Data Analyst who can provide analytical support and a strategic perspective to our internal partners throughout the organization by delivering valuable business insights to drive actions.  As a data expert, you will define the key metrics by working with department stakeholders and model them in the unified business model layer of our analytical system to provide recommendations, and eventually help them drive business decisions to enhance the service to our customers. You have a strong technical and quantitative analysis background, and an exceptional ability to distill and communicate complex data.


What you and your team will be doing:

  • Own KPIs and business dashboards, using SQL, to enable business performance management.

  • Analyze, and understand trends and drivers, as well as business risks and opportunities to produce recommendations and insights to key stakeholders to help drive their business decisions.

  • Gather and consolidate financial, operational, customer and transactional data to assist departments in understanding different measures of business performance

  • Implement predictive models using data science and machine learning algorithms on customer and product data sets

  • Collaborate with different departments and executives on strategic projects and ad-hoc analyses that contribute to the growth and business development

  • Support the continuous development of strategic planning initiatives and long-range planning

  • Drive efficiencies in business with automation of data and information, and identify areas of opportunity where existing data could provide business benefit

  • Communicate findings to non-technical audiences through the use of well-designed visualizations and non-technical language



  • Master’s degree preferably in a quantitative major or in a related field like Math, Statistics or Business Analytics

  • Quantitative analysis background with 3+ years of experience using data to solve problems and effectively answer business most pressing questions

  • Excellent SQL skills: extensive experience querying large, complex data sets and building detailed business dashboards and effective visualizations

  • Experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling and building machine learning models

  • Working knowledge and expertise in an analytics programming language, preferably R or Python

  • Ability to apply data science concepts to solve real-world business problems

  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Knowledge of relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principles, and practices

  • Strong written and oral communication along with presentation and interpersonal skills.
