Job Description

The Finance and Accounting team within Optimizely supports the operational and strategic decision-making process through business partnerships and by providing insight into how the company performs and develops.

Joining the Accounting team at Optimizely is an exciting opportunity for developing your skill-set in Accounting. You will join a small team in EMEA, reporting to the Senior Accountant in Amsterdam and act as the sole AP Specialist responsible for EMEA and APAC. With the support of an experienced team spread over Amsterdam and San Francisco, you will manage the AP and procurement process for our four offices in Europe as well as two in APAC. What you’ll do

  • You will have full ownership of the Accounts Payable process for multiple offices (Amsterdam, Germany, UK and Australia), including assisting with procurement (PO’s), receipt and coding of invoices, obtaining invoice approvals and processing payments

  • Take care of the daily banking of the EMEA and APAC entities

  • File relevant documentation for Finance and Accounting

  • Handle regulatory tax and census filings as needed

  • Communicate with third party accountants as required

  • Month-end reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

  • Process and execute personnel expense claims

  • Guide and communicate with internal customers and external vendors

  • Optimize payment and employee expense processes

  • Assist Senior Accountant with the month-end close process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/experience in accounting or business

  • 1-3 years of working experience in a relevant role, handling Accounts Payable for an international business

  • Positive attitude, support-minded and have concern for timeliness, accuracy and quality of management information

  • Ability to ensure confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Strong communication skills

  • Good time and task management skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English, knowledge of the German language is a plus

  • Prior experience in NetSuite or a similar financial software program is a plus
