We’re looking for a highly skilled technical writer to lead the practice of technical documentation at Optimizely. This role is an opportunity to shape the future of our developer docs and make a key contribution to the success of our most innovative product: Optimizely X Full Stack. Work with a team that’s focused on making developers successful with flawless documentation.

What you’ll do:
Write technical documentation for a developer audience such as developer guides and API reference docs.
Manage complex documentation projects, giving consideration to information architecture, code samples, and content strategy.
Develop a roadmap for technical product documentation and the developer docs site based on customer needs, content gaps, platform limitations, and company goals.
Help manage and improve Optimizely’s developer documentation ecosystem, including toolchain and platform improvement projects.
Build process to enable technical documentation across product, engineering, and customer success teams. Collaborate with these teams to build effective process; socialize new approaches and workflows.
Edit and proofread documents written by technical and non-technical contributors to ensure clarity and consistency.
Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that you’ll use to track the success of your program.
3+ years experience in API documentation and technical writing in a SaaS web production environment.
Experience with site management for a developer documentation site.
A clear, concise writing style and the ability to tailor content to specific audiences.
Super prioritization, planning, and communication skills. You are laser-focused on execution; you can deliver on projects involving many stakeholders and navigate fast-changing organizational priorities.
A track record of successfully working with multi-functional teams to deliver quality content.
Communication style balances listening and talking.
Working knowledge of Git and Github.
We strongly prefer candidates who can work on-site in our San Francisco office.
