Job Description

We are seeking a Director, People Operations Business Partner to provide a full range of HR support to our EMEA organization in the Netherlands, Germany and UK. In a partnership capacity, this individual will work closely with the EMEA Leadership team and global People Operations team to help educate, advise and influence internal groups on issues involving, but not limited to, employee relations, employee engagement and retention, manager development and coaching, performance management, compensation and benefits planning, new hire and new executive onboarding, organizational development and change management.

Our ideal candidate is interested in making a significant impact in a rapidly developing region; excels in a fast paced, iterative environment; and is looking to lead and be the first local person responsible for People Operations. This position reports to the Chief People Officer, who is based in San Francisco.

About The Job

  • Understand the business and its challenges in order to help address the organization and people needs

  • Assist with the change process as the company meets the challenges of hyper-growth and the need to scale

  • Align People Ops strategy with business priorities to drive to results. Partner with other POps Business Partners and POps Programs to ensure alignment and to create a strong, cross-functional team

  • Partnering with People Operations team on high impact initiatives: examples include talent assessment, compensation reviews, manager development, and employee engagement and retention, high-potential development, succession planning, etc.

  • Deliver short-term solutions while also solving for long-term problems by addressing immediate challenges and underlying root causes

  • Improve manager capabilities through coaching and implementation of management development programs and opportunities

  • Use data to measure success: learn, iterate, and improve; analyze trends and develop proactive actions to further support business objectives

  • Communicate to a diverse population and be able to adapt your style according to the audience

  • Able to work at all levels in order to meet the dynamic needs of our business -- strategic, operational, and tactical. Possesses the ability to think strategically and implement strategy tactically

  • Support the company’s growth into new countries/regions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years HR experience within a high-growth technology organization with a US headquartered company

  • Experience providing HR business partner support to organizations of 150+ employees

  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator. Ability to prepare and make senior level presentations and collect, assimilate and analyze data

  • Exceptional service skills, including the desire to make others successful

  • Exceptional problem solving skills with passion for data integrity, process definition, and continuous learning

  • Results-driven, solutions-oriented and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

  • Ability to conduct group facilitation, coach and counsel managers at all levels

  • Ability to partner cross-functionally to design, build and implement programs and processes to support business needs

  • Demonstrated competence in the various HR functional areas, especially employee relations, change management, compensation and recruiting

  • Demonstrated track record of developing effective relationships across all levels of the organization and with diverse client groups

  • Critical thinker with success in developing innovative solutions to business issues. Able to manage multiple complex issues and prioritize projects concurrently

  • Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment and work independently

  • Knowledge of  Netherlands, German and UK employment laws

  • Should be fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written. German is a plus.

- This role will involve regular travel across our 3 subsidiary locations - Cologne, Munich and London.
