Virtual Wellness Coach (Flexible/Remote)

  • Part-time

Company Description

About The Organization

OpenSeat adds much-needed capacity for K-12 schools, and in partnership with schools, serves as an extension of a school's social-emotional and counseling supports. We provide schools and their students 1-on-1 virtual access to a diverse multilingual team of trained and supervised coaches.

Job Description

About The Role

OpenSeat’s Wellness Coaches work directly with students to ensure that students have the support and tools they need to succeed in school and life. Our coaches serve as the student-facing core of OpenSeat’s goal of ensuring all students have an adult available to support them in times of need. Though coaches may come from a variety of professional backgrounds, they bring a professional readiness to support students (grades 4-12) who may be experiencing: grief, relationship issues, behavioral missteps, academic anxiety, low self-esteem, general motivational issues, and/or other short-term non-clinical issues preventing success in school.

Utilizing OpenSeat’s platform/app, coaches begin working with each student with an introductory video call and then provide ongoing support via both messaging in the app and future video calls as needed to help students.  Leveraging both OpenSeat’s training and one’s own professional experience, coaches ensure students: feel affirmed, have someone who sees their strengths, are provided concrete strategies, and leave interactions optimistic and prepared for success.

Wellness Coaches have the flexibility to set their own hours, which gives students options to connect at all times of day and for coaches to create flexibility around their other professional and personal obligations. The need for emotional, academic, and behavioral support among our country's youth has never been higher; this is an opportunity to make a big impact on schools and students.
