Company Description
Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description
Work as part of a team to research, plan, coordinate, track, and apply for construction permits as per established processes to ensure timely issuance of permits meeting strict construction start deadlines
- Maintaining and updating the project’s permits matrix and database
- Managing relationships with the Client, Governmental Authorities, and Stakeholders
- Preparing for, attending, and/or leading meetings with the Client, Government Authorities, and other Stakeholders
- Communicating both internally and externally about the status of permitting applications and responding to questions about the permitting process
- Preparing and/or reviewing PLAA applications, conducting inspections, and enforcing permit conditions
- Coordinating with contractors, architects, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and other relevant parties throughout the entire permitting process
- Coordinating with the Client, Government Authorities, and other Stakeholders throughout the entire permitting process
- Ensuring that all permits are issued in a timely manner while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning (or similar)
- 2- 5 years of experience in the Construction Industry (large projects in the GTA)
- Knowledge of construction projects, with experience in Heavy Civil and/or Transit & Rail Infrastructure projects is an asset
- Prior experience working closely with Metrolinx, City of Toronto (COT), and/or Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is an asset
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to identify problems or issues and generate solutions, resolve conflicts, and make sound decisions
- Proficient in MS Office 365 software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
