OneVest is a financial technology company on a mission to reinvent wealth management. The company has built Canada’s first embedded wealth management platform. Through its comprehensive Wealth-as-a-Service offering, enterprises can expand their product offering to include wealth management via a simple API.

We are looking for a full-time Senior Backend Developer to join our team to help us build the foundations of the company. As a Senior Backend Developer, you’ll get to own projects from inception through to deployment. Our tech stack is built with a Microservices approach and includes TypeScript, Node, Serverless, GraphQL, React, MongoDB, and AWS. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Write complex back-end code with Typescript, Node, Apollo GraphQL & more

• Build complex aggregation queries within MongoDB

• Help build a cutting-edge micro-services architecture following best-in-industry patterns

• Lead code reviews, API design reviews, or technical reviews of product stories

• Champion practices including Unit Testing, Continuous Delivery & Dependency Injection

• Mentor and coach junior developers

• At least 5 years experience building developing back-end code and business logic

• At least 3 years experience using and building complex queries with MongoDB

• Strong knowledge of our tech stack (or similar technologies)

• Ability to architect and develop service-based backends: APIs, code, and data

• Adaptable, high-achievers energized by setting the pace in a startup environment

• Team players who loves being part of and leading an agile ecosystem

Bonus Experience:

• FinTech or Financial Services experience

• Provisioning cloud-based resources using Terraform, Docker, and “Infrastructure-as-Code”
