Job Description

About the role:

We are looking for a passionate product designer to help us create software, machine learning, and data products for the fight against cancer. As the product designer on the Oncora team, you will serve as the direct connection between our customers and our engineering team. You will serve as the interaction layer between the user and the interface, conducting research, learning about primary pain points or motivations of potential users, and creating ideas to solve those problems. You will be responsible for organizing input from all customers and creating engineering and product documentation such as user profiles, sketches, mockups, roadmaps, wireframes, and requirements documents. The products you build will directly impact oncologists and cancer patients. You should expect to split your time between meeting with customers and partners, meeting with internal team members, and creating thoughtful products and documentation based on your vision and feedback. The ideal candidate is highly creative, empathetic, and technically savvy. 

What you will be doing:

  • Diving deep into oncology workflows and data to become the primary champion for our users and design their end-to-end experiences
  • Conducting user research and quantitative data analysis to get at the heart of our users problems; synthesizing varied, and sometimes conflicting, feedback into cohesive product designs
  • Immersing yourself in the nitty-gritty rules and requirements of of oncology care, in areas such as medical documentation, billing compliance and quality metrics
  • Communicating solutions to the engineering team using the most appropriate medium, including written specs, user profiles / stories, wireframes or low-fi mockups
  • Building and evolving a consistent design system across all of our products
  • Assist in product validation, QA and testing and ensure delivery of highest quality products

Qualifications

About you:

  • Have a strong base of product design experience building SaaS products
  • Portfolio or work samples demonstrating product design work
  • Comfortable with modern product design tooling (Sketch, Figma, InVision, etc.)
  • Exhibit an eye for detail and consistency
  • Have an understanding of modern web application development and front-end technologies (Responsive design, HTML/CSS, JavaScript Frameworks, etc.) 
  • Find genuine satisfaction in solving complex problems
  • Able to clearly articulate problems and solutions to a variety of audiences, including clinicians, executives, and engineers
  • Experience leading projects and showing a willingness to get things done, even when outside your job description

Bonuses:

  • Experience working in the point-of-care, oncology, or bioinformatics spaces
  • Strong data and technical skills-- you feel as comfortable writing a SQL query or coding a prototype as you do sketching a mockup
