Our end-to-end SaaS platform includes a comprehensive online ticketing system, public-facing promotional sites, marketing automation workflows, live capture and streaming software, and other best-in-class resources. In your role you can will oversee and own our accounting and finance function, partner with our management team to build process and reporting that enables growth, build and own process for month end close, AR, AP, and treasury workflows.  We are a hyper growth start up in a space ripe for disruption growing over 100% YOY.  We believe in promoting from within whenver we can, so the right person will have the opportunity for significant career advancement as we scale and build out our team.

Job Description

This is an opportunity to accelerate your career while working in an high paced start up with high levels of ownership, autonomy, and opportunity to drive the business forward.  The Controller position is a critical part of our team and will be a key part of scaling our business and a valued partner to our management team.  Your skills and enthusiasm to perform well in this early stage opportunity has tremendous upside for you in growth and compensation.  This is a Mid to Senior level position that requires experience, across multiples parts of the accounting and finance function including partnering directly with key business leaders to drive process, workflow, and reporting improvements.   In addition, as a ticketing platform, payments and finance are a core part of our product, so your expertise will be valueable in collobrating with our product, marketing, and customer success teams to inform features in our platform and ensure our customer’s journey with On The Stage is best in class. 

Responsibilities 

  • Own and execute month end close, payroll, AR/AP, treasury workflows, and other light weight administrative tasks that pop up in a high growth startup environment

  • Partner with leadership team as the finance & accounting stakeholder in the room to inform key decisions regarding new products and business processes

  • Oversee bookkeeping resource, but ultimately own balance sheet including historical review including optimization of the Chart of Accounts 

  • Work closely with 3rd party FP&A partner resource to provide management team with reporting, analysis, and insights that drive strategic decision making

  • Review all finance and accounting processes to identify opportunities to further automate and validate current workflows

  • Partner w HR lead to improve administration/benefits processes from a finance and accounting perspective

  • Review and assess both the current accounting system and payroll provider and make recommendations on potential areas to improve

  • Partner with outside Tax firm to ensure the tax preparation process is executed in timely and streamlined manner

  • Optimize Cash management including working with management team to help set department level budgets and monitor performance and forecast

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years hands on GL accounting experience — 2+ at accounting manager or assistant controller level
  • Must be comfortable handling all aspects of ME close along with Companies internal AP/AR function - including the reconciliation of 
  • Manage AP outsourced function for companies client base — paying their clients - direct business 
  • Comfortable working in startup environment, willing to roll up your sleeves with a “no task too small” mentality 
  • Implementing process policy/procedure with CEO approval to streamline the department.
  • Excel skills advanced
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written 
  • SaaS experience and MBA a plus
