Job Description

As a Testing & Inspections Project Manager in our client's Geotechnical & Construction Services Practice Area, you will be joining a highly experienced and professional team of engineers, inspectors, and technicians that is involved in a variety of exciting projects in the Triangle and Eastern North Carolina. This position will challenge you and will give you the opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to the growth of their Testing & Inspections group every day. This position presents a good balance of field and office work, so if you’re the type that doesn’t want to sit at a computer all day, this is the position for you. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Management of daily field testing/inspection activities performed by technicians and/or inspector assigned to your project.
  • Scheduling/assigning field staff to various projects based on the project’s needs and the field staff capabilities.
  • Review of daily field reports and test data for accuracy, as well as preparation of monthly summary reports
  • Management of project budgets.
  • Communication with contractors and owners concerning our testing & inspection services, including distribution of reports and test data are distributed to the project teams in a timely manner.
  • You will have the opportunity to attend monthly and preconstruction meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Five years or greater of progressive engineering and/or testing/inspection experience required for those holding a Bachelor degree in engineering or related field of study. (strongly preferred); or
    • Seven years or greater of progressive engineering and/or testing/inspection experience required for those holding an Associate degree in engineering or related field of study; or
    • Twelve years or greater of progressive engineering and/or testing/inspection experience (no degree); or
  • NCDOT and American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Technician Level I certification required.
  • International Code Council (ICC) Reinforced Concrete and Masonry certifications preferred. 
  • Engineering Intern (EI) certificate preferred. 
  • Professional Engineer’s license (strongly preferred)
  • Experience with steel construction and welding practices (CWI certification, strongly preferred)
