Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

  • Full-time

Job Description

Are you a powerhouse in supply chain operations with a knack for quality and a natural ability to bring teams together? We’re looking for a dynamic Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) who thrives at the intersection of engineering, procurement, and quality assurance. This role is built for a proactive, detail-driven strategist who can navigate complex projects while ensuring world-class quality from concept through execution.

You won’t just be a participant—you’ll be the go-to expert, guiding supply chain initiatives and aligning them with engineering, finance, contracts, and quality to make sure every piece fits perfectly from proposal to product delivery.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the single-threaded leader for all supply chain and quality-related activities across high-impact programs.

  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with engineering teams to craft and refine accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), manage changes, and drive cost-effective procurement strategies.

  • Create smart, forward-looking material strategies for both new proposals and active programs—delivering value without compromising quality.

  • Partner with purchasing teams and program managers to develop and execute seamless material program plans.

  • Forecast risks and uncover opportunities using your strategic toolkit—keeping your programs one step ahead.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality to build and maintain synchronized production schedules.

  • Engage directly with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, conduct inspections, and provide on-the-ground quality oversight.

  • Track key performance indicators and step in proactively to address challenges before they escalate.

  • Audit suppliers when needed to maintain compliance with quality standards.

  • Keep operations running smoothly with a consistent, dependable presence.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience—or equivalent hands-on technical expertise.

  • Deep knowledge of machined parts, metals, and ceramics.

  • Strong familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and ISO 9001:2015 or AS9100D quality systems.

  • Expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

  • Excellent communication and organizational chops—you know how to keep people aligned and projects on track.

  • Comfortable spending up to 60% of your time on the road (most travel is local to suppliers).

  • A proactive mindset—you see issues before they arise and you solve problems before they grow.
