Job Description

Purpose:

The PR Manager position is the secret sauce for boosting Omio's reputation, from creating press releases to juggling PR magic and building and maintaining our media database and relationships. A dive deep into all things consumer buzz, corporate communications, and social media hype, this opportunity is crucial to the PR department. As an exciting new role for trend watchers, data storytellers, and report leaders, we’re looking for someone with a self-starter attitude and a can-do mindset.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop and distribute various communication materials for the media, such as press releases, statements, talking points, proactive pitches, data pitches, and consumer insight reports, in both German and English.

  • Support corporate and consumer PR by acting as a liaison between the two teams, managing announcements, PR lists, and aiding in narrative and plan creation with agencies and the VP of Brand and Creative.

  • Establish consumer and trade media lists, and cultivate relationships with local, domestic, and international journalists.

  • Manage the press room, devise strategies and tools to enhance media visibility, monitor results, and provide feedback on media needs.

  • Facilitate coordination between consumer PR and social media to enhance integration among teams, plans, and storytelling.

  • Assist in overseeing PR agency partners in Europe, the US, and potentially other markets.

  • Aid the VP of Brand and Head of Consumer PR in devising and implementing the PR strategy, acting as a link between the media and internal stakeholders.

  • Work with our data and user research team to extract valuable consumer insights from our travel data to create compelling data-driven stories for PR.

  • Monitor and analyze metrics to stay aligned with objectives and communicate insights to stakeholders through newsletters, shareable highlights, monthly recaps, etc.

  • Contribute to planning and executing PR/brand activations and partnerships to expand audience reach, influence cultural presence, and enhance message delivery.

  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly trend reports to be shared with the Head of Consumer for collaboration on transforming them into PR storytelling opportunities.

  • Supervise the VIP journalist program including managing costs, and evaluating coverage results.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Outstnding writing skills in both English and German 

  • Interest in culture  trends, social media trends, industry news, and top stories within music, sports and culture to help determine key storytelling moments for Omio 

  • Past experience working within or in tandem with a social media team 

  • Native or fluent in English and German and excellent writing skills; additional language skills are always highly valued at Omio

  • Organizational and project management skills and the ability to collaborate with peers to launch new initiatives and establish processes

  • Experience with data reporting 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, PR, communications, or related field

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in marketing, brand, communications, or related field in a hands-on capacity

  • Experience in establishing and steering stakeholder processes collaboratively and effectively

  • Knowledgeable of new developments on brand governance, communication, analytics and reporting
