Job Description

Olsson's Facilities Engineering and Design Team is at the forefront of engineering innovation, providing comprehensive services for large commercial developments, healthcare facilities, laboratories, educational institutions, data centers, and military installations.  Our expertise includes engineering analysis, design services, and professional consulting, ensuring top-tier quality and world class installations. We also provide building inspection and forensic investigation services. As a member of this team, you will contribute to diverse, high-impact projects, delivering engineering solutions that make a tangible difference in communities and industries.

As a Project Mechanical Engineer on our Facilities Engineering and Design Team, you will apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments. In this role, you will independently make decisions on engineering complexities and supervise staff, guiding them towards achieving overall project objectives. This position will enable you to generate ideas and create purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed engineering tasks including project design, cost estimates, and design calculations utilizing advanced knowledge and experience.
  • Prepare project documents, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget, aligning with project objectives.
  • Independently tackle complex assignments, developing new and improved techniques and procedures.
  • Coordinate across other Olsson teams and direct team members on design tasks to maintain alignment with project goals.
  • Work closely with project managers on the execution of design work, reporting overall progress and managing potential challenges to meet project objectives.
  • Assist with the project scope of work and schedule and may attend client meetings to foster strong partnerships.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of less experienced staff, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Maintain project and client information within the firm’s project management system.

You bring to the team:

  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Ability to contribute and work well with a team. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Must be a registered professional engineer with at least six years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with a strong understanding of International Building Codes.

Typical range for this position is $100,000 to $132,000+ and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
