Job Description
As an Associate Technician on the Railroad Water Resources team, you will prepare engineering and design plans related to hydrologic/hydraulic analysis for Class I Railroad projects. This position works closely with technical staff to find the best approach to solve engineering and design needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with standard computer-aided design operations including, but not limited to, advanced plan production, plan sheet creation, and entry-level design principles under moderate direction and supervision.
- Receives instruction on project objectives, advanced features, and possible solutions.
- Obtains assistance on unusual problems and has work reviewed.
- Performs engineering support tasks such as gathering data, updating and maintaining computer files, preparing copies of drawings, and documenting design changes.
Travel is required to job sites in all types of terrain and weather conditions and on project sites in various stages of construction.
We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being based out of our Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE locations.

- Strong Communication Skills
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in Civil 3d
- Knowledge of coordinate systems and/or processing survey data
- Solid interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed is required
