Job Description

The Olsson Studio delivers a creative design experience in a studio environment to our clients and our people, backed by the expertise and resources of our whole company.

As a Principal Landscape Architect within our North Texas Studio, you will have the opportunity to grow and mentor a high-performing team of talented and skilled professionals.  You will be responsible for pursuing and securing work, developing client relationships, project financial performance, leadership, management, and continued growth and development of the business and the team. You will regularly communicate with team members on project prioritization, projects upcoming and workload, team and firm initiatives, as well as team financials. You will also be able to work on creative and engaging projects with Studio members across the firm.

Your demonstrated professionalism will come into play as you cultivate and nurture client relationships inside and outside of Olsson. You will collaborate with practice, regional, and local leadership to pursue additional client opportunities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Often serves as lead staff member on complex projects, and provides high-level design.
  • Elevates the level of expertise within the team through design leadership, mentoring, and training.
  • Leads the effort for putting together resources for the team and its projects.
  • May supervise/direct professionals and staff in the design approach to meet other project requirements.
  • Reviews contracts with support of administration.
  • Promotes efficiencies in producing quality work.

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Passion for continued learning and expertise development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience landscape architecture experience.
  • Must be a Registered Landscape Architect and have at least four years of experience supervising technical personnel.
