Job Description

As an Assistant Engineer for the Denver Water Resources Team, you will be involved in a variety of projects that include the following tasks:

  • Researching existing information and governing criteria
  • Designing open channels, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, water lines, culverts and detention/water quality ponds using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other software
  • Supporting transportation projects, construction observation and administration
  • Estimating quantities and costs of construction projects
  • Watershed hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC‐RAS, HEC‐HMS, CUHP, EPA SWMM
  • Floodplain modeling / mapping, along with developing storm water master plans for watersheds
  • Report writing, meetings, and presentations with clients

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Degree in engineering
  • EI certificate / EIT
  • 0‐5 years of engineering experience
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D designing and drafting experience
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience
