Job Description

As a student intern with Olsson's Utility Transmission and Distribution team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career.  During your internship, you could contribute to the intricate network of poles and wires crisscrossing the skies, or assist with designing the robust, high-powered substations that are vital to powering our communities. You may even support projects to build new industrial facilities or improve the efficiency of existing facilities.  Our work involves more than just improving the visual landscape; we upgrade electrical systems to meet future energy demands. From conception to completion, our skilled engineers and technicians bring these essential projects to life. You will assist with project design using AutoCAD, perform research, write technical reports, and travel to job sites for observation as needed. You bring to the team:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and math skills
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
