Job Description
Located in the historic Hudson’s Bay building in downtown Calgary, The Guild is open for all-day dining, drinks and private events. Spanning two floors and featuring one of Calgary’s largest patios, The Guild is a nod to the guildhalls of the past, which served as meeting places for artists and merchants.
The Day to Day:
- You are keen to acquire new skills and take direction, feedback, coaching from your from Sous Chef, Chef and/or General Manager
- You’re enthusiastic about the service ahead and proactively prepare, and organize your station of according to O&B standards
- You value the recipes, portion controls and presentation specification as set by the restaurant
- You easily maintain a prep list of station duties
- You understand the importance of the FIFO method to maximize freshness
- You’re a team player and step in to assist with receiving and storing delivered items
- You’re like us, fanatical about cleanliness of food prep areas, equipment, utensils and strictly adhere to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines
- Strictly adhere to WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required
Qualifications
- 1-2 years cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant
- Culinary diploma/degree is an asset
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Able to spend 100% of the time standing
- Serve Safe certified
